Souls of San Francisco is a storytelling project started by Dijon Bowden. Through photography and short interviews, it aims to connect people in the community and share the unique personalities of San Francisco.

This past July, Our friend Frank Clary passed away in a car accident. Dijon and I had a chance to talk during one of his many memorials. Our conversation led to the importance of documenting the people around us, and collaborating with each other. Dijon’s photo of Frank really captured a moment of time which passed. It continues to resonate with people who see the images. I knew I wanted to make a film in memory of Frank. This project with Dijon started developing in the weeks to follow. Many of the themes we explored were inspired by how Frank lived his life and explores why we should create the work we do. Our circle of friends have become closer and hopefully this video is a reminder of how important it is to connect with each other.
